SUMMER HALF-DAY CAMPS: Kids and Families with LIVE ANIMALS

9:00am to 12:00pm

This summer we are providing a series of fun, nature-based half-day camps from 9:00 am to noon on four Fridays and Saturdays. These programs will be led by Lisa Talley from Lone Star Tails and Scales and other staff.

Targeted towards kids 7-11 years old and open to their parents and older siblings too, these fun, educational programs will feature morning hikes, and live animals, and hands-on artistic  and/or science projects.

Ok.  Here we go. Here are the Summer Camps we will be delivering this July.

July 7-11: Animals A to Z (ages 6-9).

Campers will be exposed to many species through artwork, hands-on projects, reference books, games, and live animals .

 

July 14-18: Nature Arts and Crafts (ages 8-11)

All projects will be made with natural materials mostly found on the grounds of Wildcat Bluff.

 

SUMMER DAY CAMP: ANIMALS OF THE HIGH PLAINS (ages 9-11)

Monday, July 21, 2014 - 8:30am to Friday, July 25, 2014 - 3:30pm

Every day you will learn about a different class of animal through many fun activities. You can meet our bobcat and help us name her (No not this one. This one is wild and was seen down by the windmill recently, in broad daylight!. We have a stuffed bobcat here so you can get up close.)

Time: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.

Cost: $150 for non-members, $130 for members.

After-care from 3:30 - 5:30. $60.00 per participant.

Live animals to see, art projects, puzzles, hikes to look for wildlife, guest speakers, and more... You might even catch sight of some of our white-tailed deer. This photograph was taken through the office window at the Visitor center recently.
