Spring means things are getting green and gardeners are ready to plant for another season of promise - Spring Break means that hands need something to keep them busy!  Join us on Saturday from 10am-1pm - to help build a 3 sisters garden right here at Wildcat Bluff!

The history of Wildcat Bluff is about more than just our plant and animal neighbors.  We're stewards of this land and everything on it but also in a position to highlight the many years of human history our area holds.  We've partnered with Courson Archaeological Research in Perryton and will be planting a 3 sisters garden with heirloom native seeds this spring.   Bring a sack lunch and a pair of gloves and join me for a day of getting dirty!

The three sisters were the traditional crops planted by the people native to our area.  The corn grows up tall and straight, the beans use the corn as a support and the squash keeps everything weed free around the stalk.  The three together also provide well-balanced nutrition.  Sunflowers were frequently grown as well, sometimes being called the fourth sister.
