"The tradition of Saint Nicholas' Day, on 6 December (19 December in most Orthodox countries), is a festival for children in many countries in Europe related to surviving legends of Saint Nicholas, and particularly his reputation as a bringer of gifts.

Come on out and enjoy the beauty of a moonlight stroll with us at Wildcat Bluff Nature Center on Wednesday October 8th, from 7 - 9 pm, or so.  Mary Emeny will lead this hike. All are welcome to come and bask in the moonglow!

We will provide snacks, wine and non-alcoholic drinks. AND, feel free to bring whatever you'd like to share!

   "Mr. Bobkin's Intrepid Adventure" takes place Saturday, October 18th from 4 to 10 pm.

This is a costume-themed scavenger hunt where guests may interact with members of Amarillo Steampunk while searching for items in the park.  They may return to the main building to claim their candy.  Guests who post selfies with the live actors and props will qualify for hand-made Steampunk gear.  This is going to be so much FUN!

This Sunset and Wine Wednesday on September 10th, we celebrate Sunflowers! Take sunflower pix. Wear sunflower colors. Bring sunflower food and drink. We'll provide art materials to draw sunflowers - including sidewalk chalk. (Or bring your own art stuff, if you like), and more. Let's go into fall with a big bright green and yellow bang! Thanks to Cyn Palmer for the idea. (And remember to bring rocks for the Labyrinth.)

Come on out and enjoy the beauty of a moonlight stroll with us at Wildcat Bluff Nature Center on Monday, September 8th from 8:30 to 10:00pm.  Night photography expert, Jim Livingston, will give tips to photographers on how to shoot the moon, however all are welcome to come and bask in the moonglow!

We have been celebrating the recent rains, and our return to life, by inviting Amarillo to come out to Wildcat Bluff Nature Center on Wednesday evenings, from 7:00pm - 9:30pm. We thought we might stop at at the end of summer, but people demanded we keep doing  it every week for another 6 weeks at least. We'll try to get some more music too!

We are thrilled that artist, Delores Maldonado, has approached us with the idea of creating a piece of public community art and sacred space. So, volunteer Robert Keeter has cleared a small meadow on Libb's Trail and we are ready to make a labyrinth. But why? Well, throughout the  history of  the religious and spiritual practices of Christians and non-Christians alike, the labyrinth has played a significant role.

Summer has faded kids are back in school and now it's time to look upon the remainder of the year. We've had a great year so far and met a lot of new people. Tonight we are going to rejoice with nature, new friends, music, dance, and performance. Come join us at Wildcat Bluff as we come together at sunset to drum and light up the night. Glow bracelets will be provided. Photographers and spectators are always welcome.

This will be the last  time this summer!  Before we move into fall we want to  see as many people as we can out here, so we can talk about some ideas for the fall, including, for example, the making of the Wildcat Bluff Labyrinth with artist Delores Maldonado on Libb's trail right near the Earth Circle and the Gilvin Natural Science Building. We'll be doing this together on Wednesday, Sept 3rd.
